4. Do not be fooled by flowers! Flowers are a huge cost when planning a wedding, but opposite to popular belief they are not a necessity. This is especially true for centerpieces. 6. Go home. A honeymoon suite may be a must-have for many couples but there are alternatives. For example, imagine the bedding you could for the price of one night at a hotel! Your own bed at home could be ultra-luxurious!

7. Big day does not mean big wedding party! By limiting the number of members in your wedding party you can cut down on just about everything from flower bouquets and boutonnieres to travel expenses and meals. Keep the number of groomsmen and bridesmaids to a minimum. Your family will appreciate that you're working with a budget and will understand your choices!
