Wedding Orchids

[ad_1]

The bride's world is a very special world and orchids are a part of it. Orchids are no longer just the playthings of the rich, they are now readily available for all people. It so happens that wedding orchids come in such a variety of different colors that matching them with the color theme of a wedding is never a problem. One type of orchid, the cymbidium orchid, has unusually large flowers with an abundant color scheme, so this type of orchid is frequently favored by those who arrange weddings. An additional benefit of cymbidium orchids is that they tend to resist wilting, and this can come in really handy during the dog days of summer.

The bride's bouquet is usually made up of orchids. Since the bride carries the bouquet close to her face, it is important to keep in mind that orchids with a strong fragrance can cause allergic reactions. This is why it's important to select an orchid that does not omit a fragrance. This will protect both the bride and the members of her wedding.

Wedding orchids are also used to decorate both the church and the place where the reception is given. At the place of reception orchid heads can be used on tables for decorative purposes. The heads can also be placed in large bowls of water where they can float. Those with large stems can be put into vases and used as centerpieces for the occasion.

It so happens that lots of flowers carry a meaning beyond their literal names:

  • Roses have traditionally signified love
  • Lilacs and daisies have always stood for innocence
  • Blue hydrangeas have traditionally been associated with loyalty and friendship

Orchids though crown the whole spectrum by standing in for beauty

It really stand to reason, therefore, that most of these flowers have their special place in a wedding, but orchids take the proverbial cake. Is not it fitting that the beautiful bride carry this magnificent symbol of beauty on her special day? The beauty of the orchid can stand for more than just the bride's beauty. It may also signify the beauty of the couple's sacred relationship.

Orchids are wilt resistant, as mentioned above. This means that they can end the dog days of summer. But there are quite a few additional reasons for using orchids as wedding flowers. They are rugged in ways that allow them to end conditions that other flowers would not be capable of. Orchids do not like cold weather, but they can otherwise put up with all kinds of shipping conditions if and when they need to be ordered from some far-away source. Most types of orchids can be ordered through the year. And another good thing about orchids is that they can be purchased in large quantities. If at all possible, you may go straight to the drawer. This way you can even safe some money by eliminating the middle men.
