Brides and grooms want awesome imagery from their wedding, period. They want the unscripted moments captured, but they also want a photographer that can get very creative during a Trash The Dress portrait session. That's why couples everywhere are donning their wedding dresses and not only jumping into puddles, but taking a dive off a pier, walking through abandoned warehouses, wandering through grain fields, soaking in a bubble bath. and chasing other wild opportunities in an increasingly popular, one upping of the Joneses and edgy continuation of wedding photojournalism called Trash the Dress (TTD).
I did not make up the title but I have approached some of those concepts only to be stopped short of the "big bang" by concerned parents, bridesmaids, and discouraging new husbands. Most of my brides "would" go that extra step but "they have all those people to please". I'm tempted to give away a wedding session to someone that will give me COMPLETE freedom to make history … or at least an amazing, awesome, breath taking, heart stopping photo. I want to people to say "how in the hell did he get someone to do that" and then "who is he and how can I get his autograph" … not really (about the autograph) … my need to continue to out do myself, overrides any need for fame. So, I think the only way to get to the point where others will "trust me" I've got to get those first photos that will be the pictures that speak a thousand word … then I will not have to say much at all. That does it, I'm giving away a wedding!
