Bringing in the elements of winter can be tricky. You want your guests to feel that they have been transported into a winter wonderland on the one hand. But on the other hand, you want your guests to feel comfortable and warm. Here are 5 ways to bring in the elements of the season into your winter wedding.
- Crystals can be used to represent the brilliant shipper of an ice covered forest. You can adorn your tables and centerpieces with white crystals so that your tables resemble an ice covered winter wonderland. Hanging crystals from artificial small trees is a great way to do this.
- Evergreen brings in the scent of the season along with a more rustic feel of winter. You can include garlands in your wedding decor along your table centers if you are going to have long tables versus round or square tables. You can also include garland on your seating and walls. You can make the garland take on an elegant feel by pairing it with white and or silver if those are your wedding colors. Although the garland is green, it wont offset your wedding colors because it is just an accent.
- Fake Snow can be used on your tables as well as around your dance floor. I know you have all seen the mall at Christmas time. Usually the center court is where Santa sets up shop and that area is transformed by the cottony snow along the floor. Try this decorating tip for the dj area or along the base of your buffet tables if you are having a buffet style reception.
- Snowflakes may be incorporated as well, by giving out snowflake themed wedding favors, invitations, thank you notes, and linens. You may also wish to use elegant crystal or even lighted snowflakes to hang from the area above your dance floor.
- Ice sculptures make a great conversation piece. But they also remind us of the winter season. You can find a local ice sculpture to create a custom design for you or you can opt for something traditional such as a swan, or a bride and groom. If you are on a budget, no longer do you have to pay tons of money for someone to create an ice sculpture for you. There are ice sculpture molds that you can purchase and create designs yourself.
These are just 5 ways to bring the elements of the season into your winter wedding. More ideas will come soon. If you would like further tips on saving time and money in planning your winter themed wedding, please feel free to email us at consultant@winterweddingplanner.com
