When a celebrity gets married, the first question out of everyone’s lips is what did the bride wear? With an unlimited budget and designers clamoring to create custom couture just for them, it’s always fascinating to see what the rich and famous end up choosing for their walk down the aisle.

These brides set the trend for years to come. Who could forget Kate Middleton’s swoon-worthy modern-day princess look, which single-handedly made long sleeves covetable again? Or Gwen Stefani’s hot pink-dipped ball gown, which paved the way for more colorful styles?

UK-based jewelry company Vashi compiled an infographic of memorable wedding dresses (and a pantsuit!) worn by royals, actresses, singers, first ladies, and more, along with the designer and year they got married. Elizabeth Taylor is the reigning queen of bridal looks, taking up a whopping eight spots on this list, but recent brides such as Chrissy Teigen and Kim Kardashian also made the cut.
