Beauty Tips For Saving Money

[ad_1]

The quest for cheap beauty products that work is not a new one. But, it becomes more pertinent as consumers everywhere feel the effects of changing economic circumstances. The skin care and toiletries markets have seen explosions in terms of growth since our grandmother's day when a skin care and beauty regime would have contracted of soap, pan stick, cold cream, and a dash of lipstick. An infinite number of skin care products have been developed over the years, creating whole categories of skin care and toiletry products such as body scrub, facial wash, breath freshener, lip balm, eye gel, body moisturizer, foot cream, hand cream and shower gel that our ancestors simply did not know they needed. And we do not know how we could live without.

Our complexions have enjoyed the benefits of these skin care products and we've grown to rely on them. Whilst still aiming to include many of these products in our beauty regimes, the time has come to take a new look at our beauty routines and decide how to make it more cost effective.

Value for money skin care brands can often give the expensive beauty brands a run for their money according to Dr Levell (Daily Mail. "The creams Skin Doctors use on their own faces." D.Penman, 20th April 2009). Swap your high end, more expensive products for cheaper shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and body scrub that are just as effective and will save you money.

Many people are now turning to the internet to source branded beauty products for a more attractive price than is available on the high street. Beauty shopping online is convenient, comfortable and gives you access to a wide range of skin care and cosmetics products. It's such a convenient way to make your beauty budget stretch further. Signing up for online retailers newsletters is a great way to be kept informed of the latest offers and of course taking advantage of 3 for 2 offers on the high street on beauty basics like shampoo and conditioner is a great way to save money.

Homemade skin care products can be valuable in many ways and are seeing a revival in interest. The ingredients used are natural eg Olive oil, natural yogurt, milk, avocado and therefore good for your skin and obviously avoid the use of parabens and other beauty nasties. Because you have made them yourself you know exactly what's in them and you can make just the right quantity so you know it's always fresh. Making your own cheap beauty products can be a great way to enjoy an alternative pampering girls night in. Why not try making a rock salt and oil exfoliating scrub for the hands and feet or a mashed avocado and cucumber face mask. Simply rubbing a little olive oil into the cuticles is a very effective hand care treat.

Taking proper care of your beauty products will increase their life span without compromising on their quality and therefore save money. Keeping eye pencils, lip liners and nail polish in the fridge increases their lifespan. Storing perfume in a drawer or out of direct sunlight will keep it at its best for longer. As all beauty products absolutely have a shelf life it's a good idea to invest in products that have multiple uses to avoid the frustration of having to dispose of a product before you've used it all. For example, adding an SPF moisturizer to foundation will create tint moisturizer and protect your skin from environmental damage. Applying a touch of Vaseline over the top of your lipstick will give the effect of lip gloss, while also acting as a lip balm.

There may be many demands on our finances but beauty regimes do not need to suffer major cutbacks. A few money saving tweaks will still have us looking good for our money.
