Wedding photography in Sydney offers the bride and groom so many different locations in which to capture beautiful and lasting memories of the special occasion. Beaches and buildings that are known the world over will provide fantastic back-drops, even for those that live in around the Sydney area and take these sites for granted. Friends and family that may live abroad and cannot attend, will at least be able to get a feel of the occasion, and in turn show off wedding shots to their friends.
Should you be choosing a church wedding there are plenty to choose from, with every type of denomination catered for. One note on this, be sure to book in advance, once you have your date booked at the church, it is then a lot easier to make arrangements for other photo locations to be made.
The Opera house and Sydney Harbor Bridge in the CBD area along with the numerous parks and reserves make for stunning back-drops, the Opera House and the Bridge being the two most popular.
With the Bridge in the background, and many different varieties of plants, trees and flowers, the Royal Botanical Gardens, is another popular choice in the Sydney area.
Inner Sydney also has locations that are just as attractive, and will offer a different perspective on the sites already covered. Observatory Hill and Hickson Road Reserve both allow great views. The choice of background is important, and ultimately your own choice, spend some time visiting different places at different times of the day, remember light changes throughout the day, so if you have a time of day set to get married, go check these places at the appropriate time. What may look good at 2pm may not have sufficient light at 5pm, and you don’t want your photographer shooting into the light.
Beach weddings are another popular venue; Sydney is spoilt for choice with these as well. There are as many as 30 very good beaches to choose from, again its best to go to these at the time of day you are tying the knot.
City beaches include: Bondi, Maroubra and Bronte.
The Southern beach of: Cronulla
In the North: Curl Curl, Collaroy, Whale Beach, Avalon and Manly. These are just a few to check out.
Having touched on the location for your wedding photography, don’t forget the reception afterwards. You do not want to be making journeys across the city from one location to another, so careful thought should be given to every aspect of your chosen places. From the Church, to shot location, to reception, time wasted on moving around from place to place will eat into the hours your photographer is charging for. Be sure to leave enough time to get around, and get the most from the service you are paying for.
It is a good idea to sort out all the details of how long the photographer will spend with you in advance, and do they charge for travel expenses moving from different locations. The last thing you want is an argument at the end of a very special day.
