When you consider the fact that a wedding can cost as much as $ 19,000 it's no wonder that costly weddings and resultant debt do not help get the marriage off to a good start. That said, many couples spend years saving for a one day event. But shrewd couples are now planning more modest weddings that do not skimp on quality or prevent them from making the ceremony, reception and wedding night a most memorable event. The question is how can you save thousands while planning, organizing and managing a wedding that has it all.
Start Wedding Planning Early
Start your wedding planning, organizing and management as early as possible. You can not start too soon.
This can give you a great head start on seasonal sales and place you ahead of the line of those seeking to book reception halls and other rentals. Ideally nine months will give you the time you need to process your ideas, search for a wedding dress plan the details, organize the ceremony and reception, and manage your wedding event.
Making Your Wedding Budget
How much will it cost? That's entirely up to you. But the goal should be avoiding needless debt. While some spend well over $ 20,000 on a wedding and reception, others have managed spending $ 5000 or less. Your first step is to consider what is really needed and what you can do without. Consider a wedding planning budget list. These lists include common wedding items, supplies and services. There are many family reunion planning checklists and templates available online. Many are sold under $ 100 and sampler planners are free. One sample checklist is listed below.

Delegate Tasks and Expense
While it is traditional for parents to take on the cost of weddings times are changing. Often the bride and groom take on the financial responsibility. But friends are usually more than happy to assist with the cost when asked. Have friends assist with the expense from invitations to floral decor. Delegate tasks according to the persons skills, connections. Some may be able to get you a better deal in the store they work at. Others may be able to reduce fees if they work for a caterer or travel agency. Business owners may see this as an opportunity to promote their service among attendee.
The Wedding Clothes
Your wedding party members do not have to all wear the exact same outfits. Choose colors they are likely to have in their closets. Black, white or earth tones. Now add matching vests and ties for groomsmen or matching sashes, hats and flowers for bridesmaids.
Announce It
Announce your engagement and wedding plans early. Get the word out via email or send it across your social network and save hundreds. When sending out invitations include your personal engagement / wedding website or social network page. Also include information regarding your gift registry.
