Elegant Wedding Favors For a Fall Wedding

[ad_1]

A fall wedding can provide the opportunity for a sophisticated and elegant day and your wedding favors can go along way to achieving this. Fall makes for a wonderful time of year to get married as the heat of summer has subsided yet the weather can still remain bright and above all dry!

Fall also gives you a wonderful color palette to work with. Shades of brown, red, gold and yellow are all prominent and create a wonderfully rich tapestry as the backdrop to your wedding. This is also an abundant season when the harvest is collected and nature provides a bounty of goods to see us through the harsh winter months.

Typically fall inspired wedding favors will feature leaves and come in the form of candles, leaf shaped bottle stoppers, coasters and miniature soaps. But there are other alternatives if leaves do not appeal. Here are a few ideas for stylish fall wedding favors:

* Give candies or chocolates in kraft boxes tied round with string or raffia and featuring a leaf shaped thank you tag. Your candies or chocolates do not have to have a fall theme although you could look for candies in fall colors.

* Pumpkins are a common sight in fall, sometimes because of their association with harvest or Halloween! You may inspired to hollow some fresh pumpkins to fill with flowers or candles as your table centerpieces, but you could also use them for your wedding favors. You could make pumpkin shaped chocolates or candies, even lollipops. Or how about mini pumpkin cakes or custom cookies.

* Custom cookies are very popular at the moment and you could have mini versions made in a variety of fall shapes such as leaves, pumpkins, berries and corn. Present them in cellophane bags or stylish kraft boxes.

* Put together some autumnal recipes such as spiced apple pie, cider punch, pumpkin pie and soups. Alternately you could produce these recipes on single cards and give one to each guest – make sure that couples get a different recipe each. You can print these out at home and have them laminated so they can be wiped clean. Another nice idea is to have them cut into fall shapes such as leaves or pumpkins.

* Candles are popular as favors for any type of wedding no matter what the season, but photographed candles can lend themselves particularly well to seasonal weddings. Look for photographed pillar or votive candles with fragrances that are evocative of fall.

* Give your guests some flower seeds for plants which flower during the fall season. If you have the time you could start to grow them and pot them on as seedlings ready to give at the wedding. These can then be planed by your guests when they get home to replace the long gone summer blooms.

* Create some seasonal delights of your own such as spiced apple preserve or cider punch. You can bottle these up at home and add your own personalized labels.
