“Cool” is the word this season. From leather biker jackets, to denim, to three-piece suits, designers and their followers are pulling out all the stops for autumn 2010. Get on board with these pieces.
1. Burgundy
Burgundy is all the rage this season. From pull-overs to ties, to shoes, and braces, every man is finding some way to incorporate the colour into his wardrobe. The thing about burgundy is that it’s rich, almost royal in fact. It’s a statement colour. Pair it with the plainest outfit and you’re already ten times bolder then you were.
2. Parka jackets
Parka jackets aren’t exactly new this season, but seem to be getting increasingly trendy every year. The best part is they are actually warm and water resistant (so often fashionable items are not functional). While collars and belts are cool, the fur trim takes the cake every time.
3. Denim
Denim is the most classic way to look cool in the history of the world. And men’s jeans are so cool that they have started being designed for women. But denim doesn’t need to be limited to your lower half. Jean jackets are very in right now. Think Robert Redford on a motorbike (of course with a gorgeous girl riding on the back). Sheepskin collars and interiors are a great way to keep warm during the winter and add some extra texture to the look.
4. Military
The thing about military is that it can be worn in so many ways. What I mean to say, is that you don’t need to be wearing a military jacket or aggressive black boots to be trending it. A simple biscuit beanie hat will do the trick. Similarly, adding military buttons to a t-shirt or sweater can go a long way.
5. Three-piece suits
They’re back. They are so back. They are chic, elegant, and handsome, so go out and get yourself one. D&G are doing it, Ralph Lauren is doing it, and you should do it too.
6. The biker jacket
Women are wearing them and men are wearing them too. We all remember the days of Tom Cruise in Top Gun. The girls watched to see him, while the boys all wanted to be him. Well the edge is back. Tis the season to bust out some black and rock it with any colour of jeans.
No matter what style you choose to sport one day, be bold, be fearless. The bravest men aren’t afraid to wear orange jeans and bow-ties. And their trousers might be tight but they are not too tight. They capri at the ankles to show off their uber cool loafers.
