When it comes to choosing wedding venues, you have several options available to you, such as traditional locations, at home, destination locales and out-of-the-ordinary locations.
Traditional Locations
Traditional locations are places such as a church or other place of worship. This is usually held in the couple's hometown and followed by a gathering at a reception hall. This is perfect for couples who come from religious backgrounds and who have a large guest list. Many reception halls can hold up to 400 guests comfortably. The benefit of these halls is that many come with everything you need including food, dinnerware and drinks.
Your Home
There is nothing more intimate than having your nuptials at your home with a few of your closest family members and best friends. It does not have to be your home but you can use your parent's home or even your grandparent's or a friend's. This is a perfect setting for couples with a connection to a childhood home or those who have access to a large home. Keep in mind that you may think that having a nice backyard BBQ might save you some cash; the total opposite may be the case instead. Take into consideration all of the extras you will have to rent like flooring for the lawn and portable restrooms.
Destination Locales
A destination locale is a getaway location where you hold your ceremony. These locales are usually an exotic location, generally spanning the length of a weekend. These types of ceremonies can get pretty cost and quick. These types of locales are ideal for couples who either come from an exotic place such as Mexico or those who just want a few people in attendance. The good news is that many resorts will offer all-inclusive packages that have everything from guest welcome to the farewell lunch included. Be sure to check and see the marriage license requirements for the locale you are choosing.
Unique Locales
These locales are not your ordinary bridal locations, but they can be ideal wedding venues. These would include places such as an art gallery, museum, sports venue, etc. These locations would be perfect for couples who want to be unique and different. While these may be costly locations, you can certainly try and bargain your rates. Since these terms are not primarily used for weddings, you may be able to get a decent rate. For instance, if you have a membership to an art gallery, you may be able to get a discount. You want to get everything in writing including specifics on whether or not they have a liquor license, their fire safety plan and if they can accommodate your head count. Also you may need to have liability insurance.
These are all great ideas for wedding venues to make your wedding day perfect!
