Beauty On A Budget – Make Your Own Cleansers and Facemasks For Dry Skin

[ad_1]

As the weather turns cooler and we start to heat our homes and offices, your skin can start to feel tight and dry.

All of these can be used like your regular cleanser and can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a week:

-Yogurt Cleanser: combine 1 tablespoon of sesame seed oil and the juice of half a lemon into a 1/2 cup of plain yogurt.

-Berry cleanser: combine 1/2 cup of raspberries or strawberries with 1 tablespoon of witch hazel and 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a food processor

-Creamy aloe cleanser: combine 3 tablespoons of aloe with 2 tablespoons of heavy cream (or half and half)

If you want a moisturizing quick fix, whip up one of these moisturizing masks in your kitchen. Apply after cleaning your face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and follow immediately with your favorite moisturizer:

-Creamy carrot mask: combine 1/3 cup of grown carrots and 2 tablespoons of mayo.

-Tropical mask: mash together 1/2 a banana and 1/2 an avocado.

-Sweet banana mask: mash together 1/2 a banana with 2 tablespoons of honey and an egg yolk

Or try one of these treatments after washing and before moisturizing:

-Olive and honey: warm 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the microwave (test to make sure it is only warm – not hot!). Massage into skin for 2 minutes and rinse off.

-Apply a washcloth that has been dipped in milk (the higher the fat content the better – got buttermilk?) And wrung out. Apply to the face for 5 minutes and rinse with cool water.
