Celebrity Bridal Gowns That Floored Us

The dress is one of the if not the most important part of a woman's wedding. Some pick it out before they have a man in mind. Celebrities are lucky as they can afford any dress they like and show off their individual style. Some designers make dresses especially for a celebrity's wedding and the dress becomes the epitome of the latest fashion no matter how complex or unique it may be.

Elizabeth Taylor – Taylor had her first of eight weddings at age 18 and she spared no expense. Her elaborate white satin dress and tiara cost $ 1,500 in 1950, which is roughly $ 14,000 in today's money. She wore the beloved dress every lady dreams of for her wedding day. It was a traditional garment one would expect early Barbie dolls to wear to their weddings.

Chelsea Clinton – Clinton received the same reaction for her modern style gown by Vera Wang during her wedding in 2010. It was strapless and the fabric appeared to wrap around her but did not bring too much attention to the folds. What caught the most eyes was the decorative chiffon belt to accent her middle.

Cate Blanchett – It seems that Blanchett never commits a fashion faux pas and her wedding was no different. She took the minimalist approach with a simple white Ralph Lauren dress. It was slim and draped over one shoulder, leaving the other bare for contrast. Flawlessness and elegance at its finest, she looks like she is wearing a dress made out of fondant. Just like on the red carpet, everyone loved what and who she was wearing.

Jools Oliver – Neither Chef Jaime Oliver nor his wife Jools went with traditional outfits for their wedding. Her dress had a gray and white block pattern. It was a small alteration of the a normal dress to hint at her own style. She dropped off the impossible, an Alice in Wonderland look that is not gaudy but rather sophisticated.

Pamela Anderson – In 2006, Anderson married Kid Rock not in a dress, but in a white string bikini and a sea captain's hat. It was seen as one of the worst wedding dresses by popular opinion. Although what else can be expected from Kid Rock and Anderson? They are not the traditional nor formal form so they get credit for doing their wedding their way. No one can say she did not look great in a bikini.
