Find the Perfect Wedding Dress on A Budget

[ad_1]

The spring and summer months are known for weddings, and even though our economy is in a slump, it is still possible to plan a wedding without going broke. By cutting back on unnecessary items, even the bride-to-be can find the perfect wedding dress on a budget, and still have a memorable wedding.

For some cutting back means lower quality, but that does not have to be the case. There are a number of places the bride-to-be can look to find the perfect dress even on a tight budget.

Consignment Shops – No, I do not mean thrift stores or the local Salvation Army or Goodwill. Consignment shops have a variety of items that are in great condition; sometimes even brand new, but never worn. If you look around your local area, there is sure to be a shipment shop close by.

eBay – Do not laugh, but we all know you can find anything under the sun on eBay, including wedding dresses. Be sure to ask for the exact measures before bidding to make sure that it will fit properly. This way you can avoid expensive alterations.

Shopping Shopping – Another goldmine when it comes to searching for anything from buttons to car tires. There are a number of discount online shops offering gowns that vary in price. Again, be sure to get the exact measurements.

Classified Ads – Put a "wanted" at in your local paper, or even on some of the free classified ads. Describe what you're looking for and see what you come up with.

Bridal Shops – When visiting bridal shops, it is easy to fall in love with the most expensive dresses – that's what they want you to do. One suggestion is when you walk in, tell the consultant what you want to spend right from the start. This will save you time from trying on dresses that you can not possibly afford.

Custom Made – By custom made, I'm simply referring to having a professional seamstress make your wedding dress. There are a number of beautiful patterns available in which you can have your dream gown at a fraction of the cost. Visit a fabric store or even your local Wal-Mart to have a look at the patterns.

If you decide to order your dress online or have it made, be sure to allow enough time. Things happen and you do not want to be stressed at the last minute wondering if your dress will be ready when the big day comes.

With a little work and exploring your options, you can find that perfect dress at a reasonable price. This does not mean that you're skimping on quality, only in price.
