Planning A Cheap Wedding With Style

[ad_1]

Why is that planning that one special day is something you still be paying for in 5 years from now? I am getting married this year and although I knew that decent cheap weddings were not easily achieved, I often wonder how people managed to spend SO much money. Well, since planning my own wedding I began to wonder how they do not spend more. Planning a cheap wedding really is not easy. Did you know that the average wedding costs around $ 25,000? Imagine how many weddings there are each day and then how much is spent each year in total. Well there are things you can do that will help you save on your wedding. Simply read on and take note.

Important – Your Wedding Photographer

Although many photographers are employed for the entire day, this is not really necessary; the majority of guests are more than happy to take photos on behalf of the couple, and they will be 'natural' shots as well! An alternative would be to go one step further and not bother with the expense of a photographer at all; why not ask your guests to take photographs of the occasion all day?

How Can You Save On Your Wedding Reception?

The biggest savings can be made with the reception; start planning your cheap wedding by looking at the number of guests you have attending. You can reduce the number of people attending by not inviting those who are only at the periphery of your life which can include distant relatives; when it comes to the meal, instead of four course silver service, why not arrange a hot or cold buffet.

Other cost reductions can be made in where the wedding reception is held; it could take place in a friend's house or a local club where money could be saved on beverages if they are supplied directly.

Do not Spend a Fortune On Your Dress – A Cheap Bridal Gown Can Be Beautiful too.

The wedding dress is one area where huge amounts of money are spent; This is something that will only ever be worn once so a previously owned dress is worth consideration. It is easy to buy a wedding dress that has only been worn once for less than half the price; many stores have begun to supply dresses this way, often hiring them just for the day.

Create Your Own Wedding Invites – Help Online

When looking at other areas where money can be saved, do not overlook wedding stationery; invitations for example, do not have to be taken to a printer when they can be produced by anyone reasonably competent with a home computer. The quality of printers available combined with sophisticated programs means it is quite easy to do; in fact very professional looking results can be achieved on a home computer.

Arrange Your Own Wedding Flowers

Florists and flower arranging can be very expensive, especially for special occasions; why not buy them direct and arrange them yourself or enroll a friend to do this for you. If possible, try and get a friend to make your wedding cake for you; cakes do not have to be the traditional fruit so try a sponge cake with a chocolate flavor filling for example.

Wedding Cars and Limousines

This may seem obvious but why spend money on limo's and classic cars when you could simply find a friend or relative with a nice car. Decorate it, and hey presto, your wedding car awaits.

Some of the above tips may be new to you, others may simply seem obvious or not for your own preference but try and take at least some of them on board and remember it is important to give yourself a reality check. We are not all fortunately enough to have unlimited finds and you need to think of your future as well as your wedding day. If this includes buying a house then it looks like a little pointless to spend tens of thousands of dollars on one day when you have the rest of your life in front of you. Planning a cheap wedding is not particularly difficult when you get down to it. The difficulty lies in self control. When you visit wedding fairs and parties it's all too easy to get carried away and hand over you credit card before you've really thought about it.
