However, larger brides should remind themselves that most women are much larger than the mannequins, so they are not alone. In fact, mannequins displaying plus size wedding gowns are beginning to make an appearance in bridal gown stores in response to this growing segment of the population, so as to make an appeal to the women who wear them.

An essential part of any bride's trousseau is her foundation garments. This especially holds true for larger women. It is important for a bride to ensure that what she wears underneath her clothes shapes her in such a way that she has smooth, beautiful lines once she puts her gown on. This is easily achievable with high quality foundation garments; since they are not all created equal, it is important to use those created by an orthopedic surgeon, as the results are much more noticeable, as well as beneficial.
