Roc Skin Care has for over a century been at the forefront of cosmetics. Founded in France in 1952, Roc skin care was formed as a direct result of Dr Jean-Charles Lissarrauge's creation of the first ever cosmetic that did not involve a perfume. Over 50 years on, Roc Skin Care is still producing great products and is one of the largest cosmetic companies in the world and has been recently purchased by health giant Johnson and Johnson.
Roc Retinol Correxion is the flagship anti-aging product in the Roc Skin Care product line up. Even though there are several anti-aging options available, Roc uses Retinol as the key anti-aging element for all of their products. Retinol is a form of Vitamin A that is absorbed through the skin to increase the rate of skin turnover and in turn stimulate collagen growth to create a more youthful appearance.
Even though the Retinol is a powerful anti-aging ingredient, it is also the Achilles heel of the Roc anti-aging product range. The reason for this is that Retinol, along with having anti-aging properties, it also a well known irritant for those with sensitive skin. The scrapping away and removing the top layer of skin is known to lead to irritation with some skin types. Such irritation includes itchiness, redness and skin blemishing.
There is no doubt that many users have experienced decent results with Roc anti-aging products though the disadvantages are indicated earlier. This is a product that may well be worth giving a go if you do not have particularly sensitive skin. However there are other alternatives available that are known to do as good of a job, possibly better that will also suit those with sensitive skin.
