Summer Wedding Dresses – Types and Trends for 2011

[ad_1]

There are two types of summer wedding dresses. First, there are the formal gowns done in the traditional style. Second, there are those that are simple and less formal but perfect for the kind of wedding held barefoot on the beach in Bali. Each has a place in the choice of options available for brides this year.

Regardless of which type you may be looking for, the upper half of wedding dresses that work best in the warmer months are almost always very lightweight in structure. Long sleeves are replaced for halter style tops, narrow straps, or cap sleeves.

For 2011, we're seeing lots of elegant beading in the dress bodice. Beading catches and refracts light which can cast off a very soft glow in the right setting.

The intricate and detailed bodice work in today's summer wedding dress collections can make you feel like a princess. The look is very rich and flattering but does not have to cost a fortune, either.

While the top portion of a summer wedding dress may be more lightweight and made of less material, it's really the fullness and length of the skirt that is chosen to match the formalness of the location.

A very simple halter top with some delicate beaded trim can evoke one look when the skirt is flowing and knee length and can become something very different when the skirt is very full and formal.

This gives brides a very simple rule to follow when shopping for a dress to wear at a summer ceremony. Choose the upper portion of the dress so that the details are flattering and yet comfortable in a warmer temperature. Choose the style for the bottom portion of the dress based on the formalness of the wedding venue.

The flowing skirt and shorter lengths are ideal for beaches, tropical locations, and informal outdoor ceremonies. The longer, fuller skirt is perfect for an evening wedding, a formal indoor ceremony, or a formal outdoor venue such as a popular public garden.

Another trend showing up in some new collections this year are black cocktail summer wedding dresses and evening gowns. Black is a very flattering color and popular for evening weddings or second weddings and ceremonies.

There are a number of designers who have focused on making very hip and sleep styles for brides this year, too. Some of these are the center of the 2011 Zovani prom collection. Many of their designs would be an ideal summer wedding dress.

Luxeblue offers a wide selection of flirty styles great for wedding dresses this summer. In particular, the collection of Terry Lewis homecoming dresses and Mona Seal pageant dresses. Their styles are absolutely trendy and sizzle with bridal romance and flair.

Several online stores offer a great viewing experience and a peek into the incredible designs to choose from for this year's summer wedding dress choices.
