[ad_1]

You've already gotten engaged, set the wedding date and picked the venue. Now you start every woman's favorite part about the wedding planning process: finding 'the' gown. But with so many designers, styles, shapes and gowns to choose from the screening process can be a bit overwhelming. It's important when searching for your dress to find the correct shape for your body type. This will not only look beautiful on you, but will be more comfortable for you to wear throughout the entire night.

Below we've outlined a list of the most common shapes for women today; find the one that most suits you and then go off of our recommendations to start your gown search. Of course none of this is permanent, it's just here as a guide to help you get started.

Before we start keep in mind that even if your planning on losing 15-20 lbs before the wedding, your body shape will remain the same. Just something to keep in mind while choosing your gown style.

Our first bride is the short waisted bride. You usually have a very small amount of space between your ribs and hips. A very fitted bodice with a flared out full skirt is the best option for a bride with this body type. Princess silhouettes and halter necklines will accentuate and elongate your torso as well.

Next, is the thick waisted vivacious bride. You tend to have an undefined waist, or in other terms the line from your hips up to your shoulders is completely straight. The best look for a bride in this case is the empire waist. This will be flattering on you because it will give you a long, lean look. Styles you should try to stay way from are: princes and the basque because these will draw attention to your waistline.

The hourglass bride is will endowed with a big chest, thin waist and of course curvy hips. We all hate you because your body curves in all the right places. You most certainly want to try on some gowns with a sweetheart neckline and a gown that has an A-line shape with a dropped waist. These styles will absolutely show off your body the best. Looking to make a statement? This body type can also be sexy in the mermaid style gowns, as well as fit and flare styles.

Our next voluptuous brides are our full figured brides. You have full breasts, round hips, a plump backside and a slight bit of a tummy. Your body type looks stunning in traditional ball gowns because they hide problem areas well. You could also try an A-line gown, they tend to look beautiful on full figured brides as well. Plus sized brides may want to stay away from gowns with sheath and avoid getting a dress with spaghetti straps.

The pear shaped bride is heavy on the bottom but small on the top. Most brides with this shape want to cover up their bottom and find something flattering for their top. A basque waist gown accommodated with a strapless top is the way to go for you. Empire dresses are also flattering on this body type. Try to avoid wearing a sheath or gowns that fit and flare.

Our last bride is our extremely thin all over bride. If your very tiny and petite, you'll wan to keep these dress styles in mind: ball gowns looks stunning on you, in particular sheaths look beautiful as well. One thing for you stay away from if you're a little bony in the shoulders are halter and off the shoulder gowns.
