Tips for Choosing the Best Damask Bedding

[ad_1]

At first the thought of using black and white bedding may sound a bit static to you, but it can be one of the most delightfully visual design choices for a room with a bed. Why say a room with a bed instead of bedroom? Well, rooms, which are used for sleeping, are often used in other ways, especially in small spaces. You can use the classic contrast of black and white to put together room décor, which is stunning, simple, ornate, or sleek. It is all about the style choices that you make.

If you are into an elaborately adorned room, then using black and white damask in a prime manner, may appeal to you. You may want to feature this bold filigree by making it the pattern of your bedspread or comforter. On a flat surface across from your bed, such as a closet or wall, you may want to use damask wallpaper, wrapping paper, or stenciled design. You may even want to go with a black and cream instead of a crisp black and white. If you enjoy pattern mixing, but wish to do so in a more humble manner, have the wall behind your damask draped bed dressed in a black or white tone-on-tone brocade or stripe.

Feel free to use a metal finish of some sort to add neutral interest to accent you black and white room. Whether you want to go silver with a headboard of curlicues, or maybe boldly use mirror, you can bring shine to your sleep zone. Maybe you would like to accent with crystal encrusted light fixtures or picture frames. Do not forget the beauty of pearls or pearl like finishes, since they go so well with dark and light. You can take it down to the floor with a plush black or white shag rug.

If you prefer to go with clear lines and strong silhouettes, you can keep your black and white bedding more minimal. Think a plain field of black or white, and then go the opposite hue with your bed frame. You may still want to go with a tone-on-tone stripe for your walls, or sometimes you would rather go silver. One of the great things about the use of black and white when you decorate, is that no matter what color the walls are, you can make that neutral duo accent any hue.

There are times when you may not be able to paint your walls, but you can use a temporary solution, such as a painted or fabric draped board. If you make sure to use cork, or some other material, which is push pin friendly, you can have that surface double as an area for posting pictures, notes, a calendar or other items.

How about making a statement with the blown up silhouette of a flower, insect, or bird on your black and white bedding? You can go either way with a bold black shape on a white field or the negative take on it with white upon black. You could place this on your wall instead and then go with a Moroccan affected grid pattern on a black and white rug. Your room should be your sanctuary. And when you make it black and white, you will be able to easily reuse the pieces in any room.
