Tria Laser Hair Removal System is one of the most popular home laser treatment devices available that has been approved by the FDA. If you’re looking for a long term hair removal solution and like the idea of saving money and being able to do it in the privacy of your own home, read on!
Can I Use the Tria Laser Hair Removal System?
The Tria device is not suitable for use on dark skin. To ensure that the system is not accidentally (or deliberately) used on dark skin, there is a sensor built into it. You place the sensor on the skin and the device will only be unlocked if your skin is within the correct range. Using this type of laser on dark skin will put you at risk of burning and scarring your skin, so do not try this at home if you have medium brown skin or darker. The Tria can be safely used on white to light brown skin tones.
The Tria system works best on dark course hair and you will see results within 6-8 treatments. Brown, fine hair can take up to 12 treatments to see similar results and this is simply because of how laser hair removal works. The laser used works best on light skin and dark course hair but that’s not to say you can’t benefit with other skin tones or hair colors (within their recommendations).
Does it Hurt?
This totally depends on your threshold for pain. For most people, laser treatment for hair removal feels like a rubber band being snapped against the skin. As you have more treatments, and the hair becomes finer, the pain will decrease. There are 5 different settings on the Tria laser hair removal system to suit your personal pain threshold. Many people start at the highest setting that is comfortable for them and are able to gradually work up to the highest setting. Working at lower settings will mean that you will need a few more treatments to get the same results but because you’re in the privacy of your own home and you don’t need to pay an expensive clinic, you have nothing to lose by doing this.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
How many treatments you need depends on your hair type and the device setting you use. Tria recommend that you carry out one treatment every two weeks for the first three months and then once a month for the next 5 months. If you find that within that time you have very little hair growth in between, feel free to lengthen the time between treatments.
