Subtle, yet Sexy Sheer : Many dresses this year have a sheer necklines that show the sexiness of a v-neck or strapless gown, but have sheer straps or sleeves to keep it subtle at the same time. Additionally, sheer fabrics like tulle are being draped over ball gowns to give them an light and airy feel.

3-D Touches : Big bows are in style this season, whether they are at the waist, back, or shoulder. Ruffles are also very popular, especially in spiral forms. Lastly, little layers or tiers are another way way to give your dress the texture you want without making the dress too overwhelming for your frame.

Go Crazy with Color : Some of the more dancing brides are wearing colored dresses, but if you are traditional and looking for just a little bit of flair, colored sashes are still very fashionable. Match them to your wedding colors, or wear the most popular accent color for the year, which is black!

Some other trends are dresses with lace, sleeves, dots, or asymmetrical seams. The wide range of trends for this year leave a bride with lots of options – lucky you! Remember to always follow your gut. Just because a style is popular, that may not mean that you are comfortable wearing it!
