Who said you could not get married in your backyard with style? I just officiated a wedding yesterday afternoon that was fun, unique, and elegant.
My good buddy Chris for over 10 years just got married yesterday in his backyard on the Maitland chain of lakes. His next door neighbor Karl kindly offered up the use of his backyard to fully make room for the nearly hundred people in attendance. Karl also played the grand piano, which several guys managed to set up on the beach of the lake.
Chris, a water ski and wake boarder, zoomed into his own wedding by speedboat while the intro music to James Bond was playing. Upon parking his speedboat, Chris hopped out barefoot on to his white sandy beach, where I met him. Together we proceeded to the altar to receive Angela his lovely bride from her father.
I got many compliments on how lovely and wonderful the ceremony was which I personalized especially for Chris and Angela. I included personal comments about each of them, served them communion as their first act of marriage, and conducted a sand ceremony on the beach.
The wedding ceremony was most intimate and delightful. Chris and Angela together organized and arranged everything with the help of family and friends. They both were very pleased and grateful for my wedding gift to them – an elegant, unique, and personalized wedding ceremony.
Incidentally, I received many compliments from people of all ages about the fantastic ceremony. Mostly most people do not break the mold and dare to do anything different. I'm happy Chris & Angela decided to express their hearts in their ceremony, allowing me to personalize it to capture their individual essence as they joined in holy matrimony to become one. It was a lot of fun!
