Bridal Shoes – Can You Really Wear THOSE Heels All Day?

[ad_1]

One of the biggest problems for a bride is choosing the perfect shoes to go with her dress. Of course we all want to look tall and elegant …. and to glide down the isle without so much as a wobble, but is all that possible in those 6 "heels we've fallen for?

You'll be pleased to know there are several tricks of the trade that will help you with this dilemma.

  • Firstly, you can go for a shoe with a hidden platform, this will give you extra height but your feet will not be hyper extended as they are in a sky-scraping heel.
  • Alternately some designers are doing a wedge bridal shoe, which still gives you height, but the foot is spread over a larger surface area making walking more comfortable.
  • Slightly rounded toe shoes can make very high heels more bearable because although the weight is pushing forward, the toes are able to spread out more. This is the opposite of a pointed, high-heeled style where the toes are all bunched up and taking all the weight, making them very uncomfortable.
  • Lastly, it is true to say that you get what you pay for. That does not mean you have to spend the equivalent of your mortgage payment on a pair of shoes, just get the best you can afford. Usually more expensive shoes are better made, they are crafted with more consideration for where the weight is distributed when you walk and they often have additional comfort features such as cushioning under the ball of the foot.

Just a word of advice though, if you are not used to wearing heels none of the above will make you sashay with the likes of Naomi Campbell. So often the best advise is to stick with a mid heel height that you are comfortable in or choose something with a wider heel as opposed to a stiletto tip. Remember you will be wearing them all day.

However, if you are really insistent on wearing those Swarovski encrusted, feather-adorned 6 "beauties that you've seen in the boutique just around the corner then before the event put them on around the house and practice, practice, practice!

The key to walking gracefully in high-heeled shoes is to put your shoulders back, hold your tummy in, lift your chin slightly and as you put your foot down try to brace your knee rather than walking on bent legs. Yes we know it's a lot to remember but no one said it was going to be easy! It's only one day and we guarantee you'll look fabulous.
