Let's face it. Even if a wedding is the most momentous event for couples, the whole experience will be lacking if some details are overlooked. For one, some couples, probably because of too much pressure, forget to give their input when it comes to the wedding decorations. Oftentimes, they let their wedding coordinators take care of everything. Thus, the couples miss out on laying their personal touch on the whole preparation.
You must have heard of horror stories of how some couples were shocked to realize that the floral arrangements and other decorations are not to their liking. Okay, so everything needs their approval before the matter is finalized. But sometimes, some things happen and well, suffice it to say, the end result is usually not what the couple expected.
Let's take for instance the case of wedding candelabra. Although it, in itself, looks elegant, sometimes it lacks that warmth needed to cast a remarkable glow to the wedding ceremonies and the guests as well.
So how do you remedy this situation? It's not a dilemma, really. All it takes is a bit of ingenuity and creativity on your part.
You may start by setting up candelabras of different sizes around the church or chapel and the reception area. This is to achieve a soft illumination effect on the said areas. If you have a plain brass or metal candelabra, you can amp its appearance a bit by accenting it with some flowers.
You can further dress up wedding candelabra with additional greenery and some embellishments. For instance, you can add ribbons, silk garlands and tea roses to it. Keep in mind, though, that if you will dress up the candelabra with those mentioned, you need to stay close to your wedding motif.
Here are some tricks to achieve a stunning look for your wedding candelabra:
– Using two silk ivy garlands and place or lay one on top of the other. Make sure to even them out.
– Twist a piece of floral wire, preferably 3-inch long at the center of the garland to secure the two garlands together.
– Cut two more 3-inch sections of floral wire and add one on each end of the garland.
– Spread large roses across the garland, making sure that they are spread out evenly. You can use floral wire to secure them in place.
– Fill in some spaces with miniature tea roses clumped together. Secure with floral wire. Cut excess floral wire away.
– Let the garlands flow or drape around the candelabra. If you think they may fall off, secure them in place with floral wire.
You do not need to hire additional help or turn to a professional to work on the wedding candelabras. Sometimes, getting your would-be groom to work with you is a good way to bond before the actual wedding takes place.
As mentioned earlier, ingenuity and creativity are all you need to make even the plainest wedding candelabra look like a cut above the rest.
