Indoor or Outdoor: Picking the Perfect Wedding Location

[ad_1]

Whether it is indoors or outdoors, picking the perfect wedding location can be a strenuous task. There are many factors that go into choosing a wedding location, and each one can seem more important than the last.

Making sure there is enough room for all the guests to sit, large enough reception areas, scenery and weather permitting areas are all things to think about. Deciding on the perfect wedding location can be up there on the import list; along with finding the perfect wedding dress and figuring out who your maid of honor is going to be.

It is important to think about the weather. With summer comes the heat and the bugs – and depending where you live, the pleasures of humidity. Winter months brings the cold weather, snow and drier skin. Outdoor wedding planners need to think about the weather even more. With the heat and the pest factor, it would be a good idea to give the option of arriving in a semi-formal dress code.

Velvet dresses will not be as welcome here, as they would be in a cooler time of the year or an indoor occasion. Long dresses might look gorgeous, but with the grass and dirt being a given outside, the grass stains or dirt smudges can be seen easily in pictures. Silk dresses are not comfortable to wear in the heat; and neither are tuxedo jackets.

As lovely as it would be to have your wedding on a bright, sunny day, it might not be as enjoyable if you have the sun bearing its rays down on you and your guests for the whole ceremony. Approach the decision of location with consideration to the elements and natural pest factors.

If you are having your wedding at a location that is sooner to rain, it may be a good idea to have your wedding indoors. Either that, or you could have a tent or two set up at the location, for just in case cases. Even if the wedding ceremony is outdoors and goes well, the tents could be used for the reception. For those who still wish to have an outdoor feel, clear tents or tents with clear roofs to view the stars are always an option.

Attendants and guests should have adequate seating and perspectives, so that they can easily see the ceremony, whether indoors or out. If you are having the wedding indoors, it would be a good idea to have use of a microphone if the location is vast or too open, as they could have trouble listening what is being said.

With being outdoors, the high afternoon is when the sun is at its highest point, and it could get a bit stifling. When dusk hits, the weather can make a turn for the cooler. You want your guests to feel comfortable, while sharing the special day with you. Many brides opt to have a basket of shawls or blankets available in case the weather does turn cooler during the night.

Sometimes having the ceremony outside, while having an indoor reception area, is the best way to go. People would be able to enjoy the nice weather, beautiful location and scenery, but when the cooler night air comes into play, it would be easy for the guests to congregate within a restaurant or hotel lobby that is available as an alternative option.

Having an outdoor wedding is also known to be cheaper than an indoor wedding. With outdoor wedding locations, a personal self-owned property may make for a great location, and it does not come with venue rental fees. As stated before, a tent could be rented, so if needed, it would provide protection from the sun, rain or any other weather element.

The guests would not feel bound to a certain area and would be freer to roam around and socialize. Also, you would have the natural beauty of the outside to add to your already beautiful wedding. An indoor wedding and reception would eliminate worries about weather, bugs or any other natural element that might be a down factor of having a wedding and reception outside.

An issue with either an indoor or outdoor wedding could be spacing, if there is not sufficient space to accommodate for the number of guests attending. There should be enough room for the guests to socialize and circulate without being crowded and enough room to host the decorations as well. If a tent is going to be used, adequate space for the tent on the location site should be taken into consideration.

The cost and the practicalities of the location can help you make your special day even more special and stress-free. Having back up plans for anything that could go off kilter, whether the wedding is indoors or outside, can help things go smoothly. Make a list of what you want in a location, and you are bound to decide whether an outdoor or indoor wedding is more fitting for you.
