Nuptial Gowns: Designs to Accentuate the Natural Beauty of Every Woman

You're about to embark on the most important shopping expedition of your life. The wedding gown you select will be the most meaningful and probably the most luxurious garment you will ever own. That's why whether you wear a size 6 or 26 you need to make smart, educated decisions about the gown you decide to buy.

To help make your search for the perfect wedding dress a little easier, I, former fashion editor of BridesNoir magazine turned image consultant, offer some advice on style for getting the most gorgeous dress for your money.

These days, the average wedding dress at events such as Bridal Exposures typically cost about $ 700 and designer gowns start around $ 1500. For that reason, I suggest that you work with an image consultant, opposed to relaying on the advice of a sales person, whose job is to sell you a product – if you like it, they sell it. An image consultant will help you select the right dress that will work best with you body type and shape.

Samples sales are also a great source to snag the ultimate designer gown, but keep in mind, sample sales are often hit or miss situations, and do not stock plus sizes.

If you want celebrity style on your big day, I have a warning: You can not use Beyonce as a style muse and say I want to look like her with a particular dress or style. You have to ask yourself 'Do I have a Beyonce body type?' She is a performer and clothes are custom-made for and with her in mind.

If you have a tall, shapely model figure, you can opt for almost any style dress. But if you're tall with a boyish body type figure – narrow hips, go for a dress with a sash to create the illusion of a hip, or A-line or empire silhouettes.

Strapless gowns work for every woman who is comfortable with the upper half of her body, but if the top half of your body – arms and shoulders, is not tone, you have flabby arms and you do not have great clear skin, you can wear a shear bolero jacket.

The color you choose to wear for your wedding is totally up to you. But simple is always better because you have to accessorize, and the focus should be on the bride.
