Diffused light can be your best friend when you are doing wedding photography. You have to be able to bounce the flash. This has to do with the effort to be unobtrusive. Most churches have really low lighting so you are often forced to work with a flash. You can opt for a lens equipped with image stabilization to aid you in this.

You might often shy away from shooting in RAW since you know that this takes up more time in the after-processing stage but this could be a great opportunity when doing wedding photography. It gives you more leeway to manipulate the image.

Since you are using digital photography, you can make your mark as a good wedding photographer if you can show the shots right away. Do this during the reception so that the audience can already see the shots you have taken of them.

It will also be beneficial if you ask another person to do the wedding photography with you. This is a great technique since it means that you will not move around as much. There are many things going on in a wedding and it is great if you can capture most of it.
