Ok so you have found a wedding suit you like and all aspects of it are perfect apart from the size and fit, what do you do? Well read this article to find out and make sure you are left with a comfortable and stylish looking suit that you can enjoy your day in.
Making sure your wedding suit fits properly is the key to wearing well for a any wedding occasion. First you need to put on the suit along with the same shoes, shirt and tie you will be wearing on the day. This is important as they will have an effect on how the suit looks feels and fits. Now place your arms down by your sides with your hands and fingers flat against your legs. As it is now sitting, the hem of the jacket should not be any longer than the length of your middle finger. Make sure that the cuff of the shirt is showing lightly, but not showing the cuff links. (This is approximately an an inch) If it does not then you need a shirt with longer sleeves. The length of the jacket sleeve should sit comfortably past the hand side of your wrist.
With your trousers on and done up comfortably look at the bottom of them in a mirror, keeping your legs straight. At the back they should just be seen the show about 3/4 of an inch of your shoe heel and round the front they should overlap your shoes slightly and sit snugly on the top. For the taller gent a double breasted jacket would look better then if it were being worn by someone shorter, so take your own judgment as to whether the style suits your figure. An option is to have the jacket taken in slightly around the waist and a little extra padding in the shoulders to give a more debonair look.
This is a basic guide to making sure you are wearing a wedding suit that fits.
