Cuteness overload: A four-year-old cancer patient’s biggest dream came true when she “married” her favorite nurse last week!

Abby Sayles suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and is being treated at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers in Albany, New York. Since the beginning of her diagnosis, she has developed a special connection with one of her nurses, Matt Hickling. In fact, she recently told her mother that she looked forward to marrying him at her next appointment.

When Abby’s mom texted Matt about her daughter’s plan, he and the rest of the staff organized an adorable ceremony 12 hours later, at her visit. Abby’s mom walked her down a petal-strewn aisle, her daughter dressed up in a pretty white gown, veil, and a bouquet donated by Enchanted Gardens. Matt wore a tuxedo t-shirt, and they sealed the deal with ring pops as one of the doctors officiated. Afterwards, he pushed his patient down the hall in a “just married” car, and she threw a cake in his face.

“This day will hopefully be one our patient and her family can always look back on and smile when days are tough! I know I will!” Matt wrote in a Facebook post.

Fellow nurse Lori Ciafardoni, who was also in attendance, posted a video of the nuptials on her Facebook page.
