The key to making successful cheap or inexpensive wedding plans is planning. But before you begin to plan, more importantly you need to know your budget. A cheap or inexpensive wedding varies from person to person. A total wedding budget of $ 500 might be cheap to one person and $ 5000 might be cheap to another.
So the first thing you want to do is determine your overall budget for the wedding. Once you have determined the maximum amount of money you want to spend on your wedding, the next step is to break your budget down into different categories. Now in order for you to keep cost down as much as possible I would suggest that you make your categories broad enough and not have more than 4 categories. You must stick to budget for each category.
So for example, you have categories such as reception, religious ceremony, attire and miscellaneous. At this point you should already have the total wedding budget amount. So lets assume you say your total wedding budget is $ 5000. You would now want to decide a total amount for each category. To be realistic with this part you might want to first highlight the category you think would cost the most money and choose your budget for that category first. Then work your way down the list from the highest to the lowest in terms of budgeting for each category.
Sticking to your budget will be the hardest part of saving on your wedding expenses. In order to not blow your budget, you are going to have to eliminate some expenses that you might have otherwise kept. This is where you will have to decide what places and what goes.
Another key to being successful when making inexpensive wedding plans is good research. This is the one ingredient that will save you the most money it every category you come up with, and it's a must when planning a wedding. Make sure you also talk friends or family members and ask them for money saving tips for your wedding day.
