Do It Yourself Wedding Program

[ad_1]

Do not waste you hard earned money paying someone else to do your wedding programs. You can do it yourself cheap and easy! Your church probably has some sample wedding programs that other brides and grooms have used in the past. Use these as a guide for the information you need to include in your program. They are usually quite simple.

The hardest part can be the layout. You can use any word processor or text editor to do this. Most word processors default to portrait printing so you will need to change the layout to landscape. You will fold the paper in half after you have printed it. With this in mind type some text on what will become page one then tab to the center of the page. Place an X or some other character at the center of the page. Now tab some more and type something on what will become page two. Print this page and fold it in half to see if your center mark is correct. Make adjustment through trial and error until you find the center. Once you find the center experiment with where the text starts on each page. Try to make the blank space before the text equal on both pages. Once you have this leave it at the top of you page as you enter your wedding program text. Use it as a guide for placing the text. You will want to save a final copy without this guide for printing when you are done. If your word processor allows it you can add text boxes, one for each page. This makes the alignment and layout much easier as you can move and resize the text box to affect all of the text in it.

Now just enter in your personal information, chose a font you like and you can print out a four page, center folding wedding program. The inside pages will print on one side of the page and the front and back will print on the other side. Experiment with this so you do not end up with on set of pages upside down!

Find a photo or some clipart for the front. Your church may also have religious symbols you can use. You can print a few copies and take them to a photocopy store / print shop to be made into programs. Most places charge a small fee per copy plus you buy the paper. Most will also fold them for you for an additional charge. One word of warning: If you use a color picture or any color on your wedding program, please pay more for copies, WAY MORE! Always get a price per page for color and black and white. It can not hurt to compare prices on paper either. If you are having a small wedding with limited guests there is no reason you could not print the wedding programs yourself on an ink jet printer.
