Get What You Want For Your Wedding!

[ad_1]

6, 12, or 18 months is a long time to plan a wedding. And no matter how much time you have, its always a challenge to pull everything together in time, let alone relying on other to help you put on the big event of your life. If you've watched any episode of Bridezilla, you've seen the melt downs of numerous brides (and probably ran away from the TV as fast as you could). While these brides are "doing it all themselves" they've lost touch with their big day and the vision they once had in their fabulous wedding. Keeping the vision can be hard, but here are a few ways to keep it alive.

Get Clear on You Vision

If you do not know what you want, you can not communicate it to your vendors. Take the time to explore options, colors and things you think you might like. Then narrow down those choices to your top 3. By narrowing your choices to the crème de la crème your vision will translate much more clearly to your sellers. Too many idea and thoughts = confusion and disappointment.

Get Organized

To make sure you get to the church on time, you have to have everything together. This is the first and most critical step in your planning process to ensure what you envision comes to life. Getting organized involves 3 lifelines-the Task List, the Guest List, and the Money.

TASK LIST

* There are gazillions of planner books and magazines that offer good planning guidelines for when you should accomplish wedding tasks. While we create a custom planner for our brides, having some point of reference is a really good place to start.

THE GUEST LIST

* I know, I know, I can hear is from here. The dreaded guest list is near the bottom of your things to do, but actually is one of the most CRITICAL elements to ensure your spectacular wedding and must be tackled ASAP! Assembling all the guests' addresses and typing them up will ensure not only your sanity when it comes to ordering and sending out save-the-dates and invitations, but it will also give you a realistic look at your proposed guest list and allow for time to make any necessary changes. (BEFORE crunch time.)

THE MONEY

* Again, crunching numbers is not a fabulous part of wedding planning; however it is a necessary one. We use a very detailed and customized budget planner for clients to really look at where the wedding money will go and where we might make changes. Whether your budget is $ 3,000, $ 30,000 or $ 300,000, a budget is needed to give you direction in your planning process.

Hiring the right vendors

Finding vendors that match your style and personality are crucial. Just like your best friends, the best sellers for you will be the one's you have a personal connection with. If you like your vendors, it's so much easier to trust them and their opinions. Do not get me wrong, being established in the industry is important, but the number of years in business does not equate to likeability. And since you have to be around these people on one of the largest day of your life, you better like them … a lot!

Wedding Coordinator

Pulling it all together yourself often leads to an episode of Bridezilla's. Being a bride is a full time job of being pampered and beautiful, not dictatorship. SO take the stress out of your life and hire a professional to help you along the way. Having a wedding planner from the start will help you pull all the details together and make sure that your vision is translated loud and clear. Beside, it gives your vendors a point of contact on your wedding day to execute the vision you've been dreaming about!
