Having Your Wedding and Not Breaking the Bank!

[ad_1]

Weddings happen no matter what the current economic picture is in the world and it is possible to have the wedding you've always dreamed of and keep it within the budget you have.

Planning is the most important ingredient to a successful wedding no matter what the budget.

Your Engaged! Having a discussion with whomever is financing the event is the first priority. Discuss the type of wedding you would extremely like to have and the number of guests you wish to invite. Remember flexibility is extremely important. At the end of the day you will be just as married wherever you stand in front of a justice of the peace in a private ceremony or have a large church affair. The choice is up to you.

An excellent way of keeping the budget intact is having a wedding at the church you attend regularly. The fee for rental of the facility should be minimal if you or your family are members. The church hall may be available for an early afternoon brunch reception with a lighter fare. A celebration of this type is most economic because most caterers charge less for this type of meal. The church auxiliary may offer to provide the food at a much lower cost.

If a large reception is what you have your heart set on, consider a venue that allows the food to be catered by an outside source rather than an "in house" caterer. This option typically allows a larger choice and less expensive price. Without the venue offers a discount for using it's caterer and they provide the table linens in the set fee. Certain venues may also offer a discount for booking your wedding on an "off" day such as Friday evening or Sunday. These are not typically "wedding" days and the site may be willing to discount in order to have the additional business.

You may have heard that having an horsdevour reception is more economic than the buffet or sit down dinner. But in fact, that is not always true. In order to provide enough food for each person to have a small meal the cost can be extreme. The buffet is usuallly the best option for keeping the cost down. You are usually allowed the choice of two different meats, a potato dish and usually one or two vegetable choices. The meal should also include dinner rolls, butter and a house salad with choice of dressing. Coffee and / or tea and water are normally the offered beverages. You can further keep the cost more reasonable by choosing a chicken dish or an italian pasta dish as an alternate choice.

A home reception is also an alternative to renting a venue if you have the space you may rent a tent from the local rental agency and they will also have the tables, chairs, china etc., you will need. This type of reception can be as elegant or as fun as you wish. You can have the china and linens or you may choose to have a picnic type gathering right down to the bbq and gingham napkins.

With a bit of creativity and knowing the budget and expectations before hand your wedding can be all you had hoped it would be.
