How to Include Children in Wedding Plans

[ad_1]

Everyone knows that children are chosen as ring bearers and flower girls in weddings. There are lots of other ways children can be included in the wedding.

1. Children can help with the planning of the wedding by organizing guests list, helping to create invitations, helping the bride choose her gown, and helping to choose the flowers. The point is to let them know their opinion is valued and appreciated. Children love praise, so make sure you tell them how thankful you are to have them helping.

2. Some children have a special talent. If so, they could sing, play an instrument or read scripture or poetry at the wedding. Make sure that if the child becomes too nervous or scared to perform, that you allow an easy and discrete way out.

3. Helping with party favors and decorations is something that any child could assist with. They could help assemble table arrangement like mint packages, and flower arrangements. Decorating the church or reception hall is also an easy way to get the kids involved with the wedding planning.

4. Children can also play the role of usher, hand out wedding programs and remind guests to sign the wedding book, hand out birdseed or bubbles, or take candid pictures during the reception.

When you are thinking of ways to include children in the wedding, remember that children (especially the young ones) may not cooperate on show day! Always have a back up plan. Things may seem all in place and working well, then stage fright sets in and the child will not perform. Do not expect too much out of children when it comes to wedding plans. The main thing is that they feel included.
