How To Plan A Dream Wedding On A Budget

[ad_1]

Almost every girl has a dream about her wedding day for as long as she can remember, and the older she gets the more she dreams and fantasizes about it. Most girls even begin to plan out bits and pieces in their heads and have all sorts of ideas about the big day. I have been thinking about my wedding day ever since I began working at a bridal store during my senior year of high school. Being a senior in high school at that point I had been with my boyfriend for a little over 2 years and we already knew that we planned on going to the same college together so to me that meant we were going to be spending the rest of our lives together (luckily I was right). I began admiring wedding dresses although from the moment I started working at the bridal shop. I would marvel at the different designs and image how they would look on me.

I knew some styles that I defiantly would not want for my wedding dress and others I dreamt of how I would look in them walking down the aisle. I surprised how everyone would think I looked and if my fiancé would shed a tear when he saw me. When you're picturing and dreaming about your wedding you never really factor in how much everything can cost. Now that I am engaged and still in college I realize that I want to have my dream wedding, but I also want to save as much money as I possibly can. A picture is not cheap, but neither is a wedding so it is a little stressful trying to find money for both. Since I can not compromise my schooling my fiancé and I have decided that we're going to try and save as much money on our wedding as possible.

We still want our big day with all the trimmings and elegant style but it can be done on a budget, while still making it magical. We realize that there are some costs that are unavoidable. Such as paying for the church (if we decide to go that route) and paying for the reception venue. However, there are still some ways to possibly save money, even with those things. We have decided to get married in the wedding "off" season. We picked the month of January, for a number of reasons. We wanted his brother to be able to come, it is the month we started dating, and my grandsparents and parents both got married in January, so it is somewhat sentimental to me. Neverheless we picked a month that not a lot of weddings are going on so it gives us some leeway. If we go even further to pick a Friday or Sunday to get married on we might even be able to find some cheaper prices on avenues. Weddings on Saturdays tend to be charged a tad but more because places know that is an ideal day to accommodate for travelers and out of town guests.

Other ways to save money is just about shopping around and looking for the best deal. For your wedding dress there are many way to save money. You could look for sales, dresses that are being discontinued, buying online (or even looking at eBay), and there is always that chance that your mother kept her wedding dress and you might be able to make it work for you. Bridesmaid's dresses and flower girls can go the same way. Even better if you do not have a very big wedding party, or if you do and can locate many of the same style you can consider looking in a department store or store at your local mall. There are many places that carry dresses that would be suitable for a wedding. If you find a dress you like in a store like Macy's or JCPenney's you could even look online to see if you could order more of the same dress in the sizes and color that you need.

Tuxedos are usually paid for by the groomsmen but that does not mean that they can not save you money. At most stores if you rent a certain number or tuxedos (usually ranges from 6-8) then you get the groom's tuxedo free (usually as long as it is equal or less value). That is a deal in itself right there!

When it comes to shopping around for ideas to decorate the wedding reception consider looking at second hand shops or vintage thrift stores. This is an especially good idea if you do not mind all of your centerpieces being different. You might even find some other cool things that you could use such as a cake-cutting knife or room decorations. Another way to add some ambiance and romance to the room (especially in January) is too add some white Christmas lights. You can usually get a really good price for them on sale or clearance after Christmas and the New Year. Just wrap some tulle (maybe that you had trimmed off your dress when you had it altered) around them to add a little softer glow.

Looking online at places like eBay and Amazon will save you a fortune as well. You can find just about anything you could probably want for your wedding at a discount price; wedding favors, flowers, table decorations, room decorations, wedding jewelry, the rings, glasses, and many more things. These websites would also be a great place to look for possible wedding dresses and accessories like your veil. Most of the time what you're going to find on eBay has only been worn once so a little steam job and the dress and veil can look brand new!

So when planning your wedding do not stress about money and worry about spending too much. You should be focused on the day and how happy you make each other because after all it's only a once a lifetime that you marry the person you're going to spend the right of your life with (for most of us at least)! It should be a stress free special day because in the end with the help you will most likely receive from friends and family it is all going to come together perfectly anyway.
