Organizing a wedding can be one of the most expensive and stressful times in your life, a major culprit of stress is the cost, if you know how to plan a wedding properly then you will eliminate a lot of the costs, and thereby much of the stress
When it comes to the cost of the wedding you don, t have to break the bank, there are many ways to save hundreds if not thousands of dollars on your wedding expenses, and still have the wedding of your dreams. You just need to know where to look
Get Organized:
Being organized means planning down to the last tiny detail, so that very little can go wrong. It means that things will go as smoothly as possible when organizing such a large event, therefore eliminating much of the stress.
There are 5 important steps to getting organized
1. Start Researching.
Start to gather information from as many sources as you can, wedding magazines, books, the internet, the experience of a friend who married during the last couple of years, wedding companies recognize a bride a mile away, and know they have done very little research, believe me, you will, be fair game without you do your research.
2. Set The Date.
Give yourself plenty of time, the more time the better organized you will be and the better the chance to stay on budget, or even come in below budget. The time of year and the day you choose will affect your costs, Saturday weddings are always more expensive than weekday weddings. You will pay more for an evening wedding than for an afternoon wedding.
3. Set Your Budget In Cement
This should be your number one priority. A budget will give you boundaries in which to work, you want your wedding to be the happiest day of your life, so you don, t want to start your new life in debt, or have your family go into debt for you do you? So stick with your budget regardless of the temptations.
The fact is the wedding industry are out to make money, and they are not going to tell you how to save your dollars, the exact the opposite is true, these companies know how excited brides are and that your emotions take over, they know exactly what buttons to press to keep you spending more than you can afford. This is where your research pays big dividends and can save many hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
4. Select a Theme
This is going to depend on your budget and is an area where you can really save money, simply by doing your research and being a little creative, do things yourself instead of paying extra for them. For example make your own confetti, use a hole punch to cut wonderful shapes with gorgeous metallic paper and spread it over you tables, make your own floating flower or candle bowls, these are just a couple of ideas to get you started. Talk to friends and family to give you even more ideas.
5. Choose Your Wedding Party
This can be a highly volatile area, and you are sure to hurt some ones feelings by not choosing them, especially relatives, this is your day so choose the people You want in your bridal party. Once you have selected your bridal party you will need to let then know what their costs are going to be, better they know early, so that they too can work within a budget. It is far better to have an understanding up front, from the beginning of the wedding planning, that way there will be no misunderstandings and therefore most of your plans will be stress free.
I hope that part one has been helpful and informative in "how to plan a Wedding" Stay tuned for part two.
