Planning a Wedding – Forget the Perfect Timetable

[ad_1]

There is no perfect timetable of when you have to do everything. Most things can be done in 2-3 months, I planned my wedding in less then 2 months and a family friend requires their kids to get married within 6 weeks, yes 6 WEEKS from the time they will not pay a penny for the wedding. Even with this said, the sooner you do things the better and the more likely you will get what you want.

There are certain things you will want to do quickly because they will make a big difference, however, there is no set time of when to do them. If you want to plan your wedding quick you will want to keep one thing in mind, be flexible. You will most likely not get everything you want if you try to plan it in 2 months, however, you may if you are flexible. Here are the very first things you need to do no matter how long you have.

Pick a date- This is incredibly important since most of what you will do will revolve around this day. Choose a day the fits you and the most important people to you. For instance, ask parents, grandparents, siblings and close friends if the date is okay. Usually it should be but you would hate to plan it the same time you parents are going on a cruise already bought and paid for or your best friend is flying to Paris with her boyfriend.

Venue- The location needs to be booked ASAP. If you are doing this fast you may find the place is booked every Friday and Saturday night for the next couple months or even years. If this is the case try Friday, Saturday or even Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon weddings have become pretty popular because they tend to cost a lot less.

The Band- Good bands and DJ's are often booked 6-12 months in advance, for peak times. Here is where afternoon wedding will also help. Bands and DJ's are easily booked for Friday and Saturday nights, but afternoon are clear a couple weeks out.

Invitations-These are aged out 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date. So do them quickly if you are planning your wedding in less then 3 months. If you are giving yourself more more time then plan on choosing the invitation 12-16 weeks prior to the wedding so that they have time to print and you can make changes if necessary.
