Rehearsal Dinners – Setting the Tone For the Weekends Festivities

[ad_1]

Your Weddings ~ After months of planning it is finally here. The energy level is at an all time high! A dinner follows the wedding rehearsal is a wonderful way to begin the wedding festivals. The celebration usually takes place over a weekend with guests arriving to see their favorite couple tie the knot! It is a time to spend with family and friends and create new memories to reflect back on forever. Weddings bring people together who have not seen each other in years.

We suggest inviting not only those participating in the wedding, but you out of town guests as well. Many have taken the time and traveled to be with you and your family so let them be a part of the evening and get to know others they may have only heard about. Invite the spouses or significant others of the wedding party.

Often when the grooms family is booking a rehearsal dinner, they often say, "we do not want to 'out-do' the wedding." The rehearsal dinner sets the tone for the weekends and should not overshadow the Wedding Reception, but it does need to have its' own unique touches. It should be relaxing evening with lots of laughter, toasting and reminiscing about the couple, and most importantly fun.

Once the menu is finalized for the reception you can plan the rehearsal dinner menu. Try to serve entrees that are completely different than what is being served at the reception. If the wedding is black tie, the rehearsal can be casual. If you are having a sit-down at the reception, consider a buffet for the rehearsal dinner.

While today's couple's are very contemporary, one thing that seems to stay consistent is that the majority of the focus of the wedding is on the bride. We suggest that the rehearsal dinner reflect the groom's favorite things. Does he enjoy BBQ food? His favorite vegetable is green beans and there is nothing fussy in his salad! Dessert – your man loves pie! Be sure that the evening pays attention to his favorite things, since after all, he has picked you to be his wife, you know he has good taste!

There is a lot of excitement in the air with the 'Big Day' less than 24 hours away. Subtle music can be played from a CD or consider a solo guitarist. Pay attention to the lighting – you want your guests to be basking in a warm glow. Table arrangements can reflect a theme if your dinner has one. Consider different photos of you both as a couple during your dating years. Beautiful flowers and plants can be given away to people who have been a big part of your life or have helped you plan your wedding. Of course you can never go wrong with candles.

There are many elements involved in making the wedding weekend fun, meaningful and beautiful. Most importantly it has to run smoothly and be stress free.

Perhaps you would like to hold this dinner at your home, in a garden or a private room at a restaurant. Whatever your needs might be on the eve of 'your big day' a professional caterer can help guide you and make it an effortless and memorable event for all those involved.
