Sample Wedding Budgets – How to Ensure Your Dream Wedding Does not Derail

[ad_1]

When planning a wedding, it's essential that you think about sample wedding budgets. Some couples think budgets are boring and deadly dull, but without one, your wedding costs can quickly blow out to an outrageous figure that can years to pay off. And who wants to start off their married life with a mountain of wedding debt?

First choose an amount of money that you can afford. You can still have a dream wedding for $ 5,000 instead of $ 25,000. It just means you have to be a bit more creative. But that's fun! Your big day will just be as special and memorable to you however much you spend on it. You do not want to slave away for years to pay off a $ 25,000 celebration when you could have had a gorgeous wedding for only $ 5,000 (or less).

In sample wedding budgets, you would apportion a percentage or dollar figure to each part of the wedding. For example, you would list reception, dress, cars, favors, music, flowers, centrepieces, etc. Once you have listed all the elements you want to have, you need to work out how much to spend on each. If you think your reception is going to cost half your budget (50%), then write that down next to it. Do the same for the other items on your list.

Once you've done that, study the list and see if everything makes sense, you may have reception costs at 50% and flowers at 20%. That only leaves a total of 30% for everything else on your list. So you may need to rethink some of your figures.

Next, start investigating prices of the items on your list. If prices are more than you bargained for, it's time to get creative and think of a cheaper alternative.

If you've done all of the above and your projected wedding costs do not tally, then it may be time to prune some of the items on your list. For example, can the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses and shoes? Does Uncle George have a nice car that can double as the bridal car?

These are just a few things to keep in mind when playing with sample wedding budgets.
Hopefully they have sparked your imagination. Above all else, remember that this is your wedding day. Spend some time making it yours and it will not matter how little you spent.
