Research:
This is so important; it will determine how successful your business will be! It will give you all the information you will need for the rest of the steps in setting every thing up. In this step you will become familiar with the niche you have chosen and then find out what type of traffic to send to your product offer. You also have to research what type of keywords to choose. This will help assure you select the proper traffic to receive, only those that are interested in your products. (The right traffic assures good conversion of your visitors into actual sales.)
Take your selected niche (copy-n-paste) and go to a search engine site such as Goggle or Yahoo. Enter the word phrase into the engine and click go. (Or search) You will find lots of interesting information on your niche. Write down the following information and pay attention! The more search engines you use the more you can learn. You can find them the same way. (Type in "search engine")
Are you starting to see the power of the information super highway?
Now let's find out how to use this information to make you some money! Put your niche back into the engine and search again. Look at the right hand top corner of the page. (Not all the engines have the same layout)
I used the search words "bowling tips" You should see something like this:
Results: 1 – 10 of about 1,460,000 for Bowling tips. (0.16 seconds)
This search shows results for: (1-10 pages of 1,460,000 containing the words "Bowling tips" and that took.16 seconds to find.)
This information tells us a couple of things, how big the niche is and how competitive it may be. As you can see, there are millions of documents containing these words and ten pages of links. (As a rule each link page has about ten links) We should be only concerned with the first page and about the first 4 – 5 listings.
Let me explain why, search engine ranking determinates what listings get top billing. This is calculated by how relevant the content of each listing is within the title, description, domain name, keyword and site content.
It's pretty simple actually. Web surfers search for information by doing what you just did for your niche. They type in keywords and search for matches. The search engine companies like Google are obliged to give the surfer what he or she is seeking. Could you imagine what would happen if they did not. Some child may type in a phrase containing the word toy and end up with a page full of smut. So, to serve the masses well the search engines are constantly crawling the web with spider programs that determine how relevant each destination site is to; listing, title, content and so forth.
Ninety-nine percent of web surfers never go past the first page. (Page 1 of 10 from our search above) In order to get a listing on the first page of your site content, domain name, description and title must contain the same keywords and be relevant to the niche you've chosen. The more they all link together the better your chances are to score that first page seat. The next thing they use is the amount of traffic accessing the link. (We will address that later)
Let us take a look at the first top ranked listing. (Ranked number one by this search engine)
Note the number of keywords used throughout the listing.
Remember we searched the phrase " Bowling Tips ":

As you will notice the search word phrase and individual words that were entered, show up multiple times. This is the key!
Keywords:
Bowling tips (2)
Bowling (4)
Bowl (1)
Tips (2)
Another thing to point out is the use of other, high-ranking keywords used throughout the listing. Let's take a minute and look at what this listing consists of.
Title ……………> Bowling Tips | Bowling Help and Secrets
Description ……> Our bowling tips and free guides will teach you to bowl
better and reach new high scores. We help you win games.
Address URL ….> helpwithbowling.com/ – Cached – Similar –
These lists can supply you with the keywords that can give you good-targeted traffic to your site if used properly. We suggest you do several searches like this and create a list of potential keywords using your niche. Use the top 4-5 on each page and search with multiple search engines. Build a list of about twenty to thirty keywords and similarities. (Any words that could potentially be pertinent to your niche)
Search Engine Optimization:
This list of keywords and phrases can be used later to perform what is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization) SEO will confirm that the search engine spiders (robotic programs that crawl web site content) will find relevant information within your web site's content. This helps to make sure that the person searching for keyword phrases is getting information from only sites with relevant content to their search entry. This is why the research is key to getting ranked high enough to earn a seat on the first page of the search results displayed.
Use your list of high-ranking keywords throughout the design stages of your web site and content. Make sure to use the keywords often to ensure the relevancy of your site content to the niche you have chosen. Try to use the highest-ranking keywords in your URL (domain address), Title and Description. Just like the "Bowling" example above. Notice the word bowling shows up in all three. This is why that site gained a "Number One Seat" in it's ranking.
The search engine providers rank keywords by using statistics and data gathered by crawling spiders. The two main statistics that focus on are Quantity and relevance. This is why this research stage is so critical. You can actually get information from Google that will show you how any keyword or phrase is currently ranked. They have a tool called the "Google Key-word tool" it can also show you what kind of traffic you can expect from each word or phrase if you use it properly.
Now when your list is complete visit some of the sites (the top 4 -5 on each first page of each search) and make notes of what type of site it is. An e-store, an article, news release, blog, personal site, business site or squeeze page (Product sales page)
This is a listing of your competition within your niche. We will explore how to use that information to help you to promote your product later. Also note the first page of each site you visit (especially the first couple of paragraphs) will contain the same keywords you found in the search listing. Believe me you would not find these listings on the first page unless they do.
Now you have created the database used to build the advertising base of your campaign and we can now begin. Using your keyword list we can begin to start building your web site in a way that will explode your potential for converting traffic into sales.
