Most parents and grandparents get to enjoy the agony and the ecstasy of planning a wedding in their lifetime. Everyone wants the perfect wedding and that is understandable because it usually is one of the happiest days of our lives. I guess I was blessed that I only have sons when it comes to talking about weddings. Of course, I have three sisters and so I am very familiar with all the stress of planning a wedding. I have seen the view from the bride's side as well as the groom.
The amount of money spent on weddings could probably balance the federal budget every year. I have one friend who was the father of as bride and he spent a lot of money on the wedding. He told me he had someone tell him that paying for a wedding is like buying a luxury car and driving to a cliff. You sit in your car for 2 hours enjoying the view and then you push it off the cliff into the valley below. I know of very few people who did not say they spend too much on the wedding. They always say it was worth it, but they wish they had spent less.
The goal for the bride and the mother and sometimes the father is to have the perfect wedding no matter what the cost. If you have a guide for planning that perfect wedding it probably will save you money. The more ideas you have the better.
