The theme to your wedding should reflect your partners and your personalities. Incorporate your likes and character into your own personal day. Following are a few suggestions on how to begin. Remember these are just suggestions; let your imagination run wild and have fun. And if you need a little extra help with ideas and materials ask a wedding planner to guide you through it.
A themed wedding requires detailed planning
- Food- choose a menu that not only suits your theme but is also neutral t all guests. Be sure to take extraordinary and allergies into consideration.
- Location- Complete your guest list before choosing your location; this way you choose the right place to comfortably accommodate all your guests. Also will you be having and indoor or outdoor wedding? Take the time of year and weather into great consideration before making this decision.
- Decorations- very time consuming and a lot of hard work. Be sure to have plenty of help or hire a decorator. Either way all the work was well worth it and it compliments and reflects your theme.
- Wardrobe- Discussing it over with wedding party, friends and family gives you an outside look on every possible to not only match your theme and colors but also gives you more to choose from.
- Favors- Making wedding favors at the reception that reflect your theme are not only perfect to accent the decorations but are excellent memories for the guests to take home.
My favorite and of course the chosen theme for my wedding was the Fairytale Theme. Cinderella was always my favorite Disney and for one day I got to live it. This theme of course includes Prince Charming. If you want to experience the whole Fairytale include the horse and carriage with your centerpiece. Centerpieces can include the glass slippers, castle and horse in carriage that come in many different colors to match your color scheme. Serve food amidst dry ice to create a magical environment.
Flowers or no flowers says a lot about you and accents the theme. Choose colors that match your outfits and as well as your décor. Hearts are also another perfect touch to the décor. Nothing symbolizes love more than a heart. Make it colorful to brighten up your chosen location or make it a heel touch in one color to add to your theme. It's also a great idea as the shape of your cake. Balloons in any shape or color are also another beautiful yet inexpensive way to decorate your chosen location. Some suggestions are creating an arch over the dance floor or surrounding the main tables adds an elegant touch, fills empty spaces or covers unwanted items that can not be removed from your chosen location. The possibilities are endless.
Of course these are just guidelines. Your wedding is all about the two of you. You two are the only ones that can create the perfect wedding day; so be creative and remember if you two like it than its perfect.
