Tips For Planning a Backyard Wedding

[ad_1]

Are you dreaming of a cozy wedding ceremony in your backyard?

A home-based wedding ceremony is sure to create some intimate pictures for the wedding albums, particularly if you have a special tree, gazebo, fountain, swing or other object that can serve as a focal point. And each season can offer a particular beauty for the wedding photo albums, depending on which flowers will be in bloom.

But before you take the plunge, here are some things to consider:

The space.

Your background may be a perfectly lovely backdrop for the wedding photo albums, but its size may limit the number of people who can witness your nuptials. Make sure you’re realistic in your plans, and also consider issues such as how many bathrooms are available to accommodate guests.

Renting equipment.

You will probably have to rent chairs, a buffet table, lights, linen, a sound system and a generator to provide extra electricity. Factor these costs into your wedding planning before assuming that a backyard wedding is cheaper than booking someplace.

Food and drinks.

Handling the food and drinks yourself may be the most cost-saving solution, but many couples find their day goes more smoothly if they hire a caterer.

Weather.

Maybe you’ve always dreamed of an April wedding so your wedding albums can be bursting with flowers, but what about spring showers? Make sure you have a backup plan in case the weather doesn’t cooperate with your vision, such as a tent or alternative indoor location.

Permission.

You may want to check with the local government about noise ordinances and with the police department when planning parking. It would also be a nice gesture to let your neighbors know you will be having an event at your house – and invite them over for a drink during the reception.
