Wedding Music

Music is an important part of any wedding ceremony; most couples will have a special song that reminds them of when they first met or their first kiss or some other special moment in the relationship. Music has a powerful way of connecting us with events and brings out emotion and feeling. When it comes to organizing the music for your wedding it something that you will want to get right as it plays an important part in the overall outlet and theme of your wedding. There are many choices for music when it comes to a wedding. You can hire a wedding dj or sometimes even go for the option of having some live music played from a live band. Some Scottish weddings have ceilidhs and Scottish country dancing to some traditional Scottish music. If you are on a strict budget preparing a cd or ipod with all your favorite songs is a good money saving idea. The type of music you have at your wedding will be large dependent on your own personal tastes, the type of wedding you are having and the age of your guests. The music for a wedding is an important ingredient and will live long in the memories of your guests if you get it just right.

Live Bands

Live music is usually played for around two to three hours at a wedding with the music being split up into different sets to give the players and vocalists a rest in between. There is no substitute for having live music as it connects with the audience better than anything else and more people take to the dance floor and stay there. Also keep in mind that it may take up to an hour for a live band to set up their stage and instruments. If you are having a video made of your wedding it is even better to have a live band as this will look great on DVD and the music will be perfect for an introduction at the start.

Wedding DJ

A good wedding DJ is usually worth paying for as you do not want to get to your wedding reception to find out that the DJ only has a limited choice of music and can not meet many of the guests requests etc. It is important to find out beforehand what music the DJ has so you are not disappointed. Making a list of all songs you want to hear is a good idea so that the DJ can try and acquire any favorites that he does not already hold.

Scottish Country Dancing Music

If you are having a traditional Scottish wedding you will most likely want to have some Scottish music and country dancing. Having a live band with some violins is an excellent way to create a really unique and authentic atmosphere at your wedding that guests will remember for years to come. Traditional dances that you are likely to see include The Dashing White Sergeant and Domino Five. These dancers are really easy to pick up so everyone at the wedding can join in and have fun.
