With Tom Cruise 'desire for the spotlight, wedding guests included the likes of 150 guests included such Hollywood stars as Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, David and Victoria Beckham and even Brooke Shields. Other Hollywood ideals included Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Jim Carrey as well as fellow scientologists John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, and Kelly Preston. Family members included Katie's parents Martin and Kathy Holmes, Tom's mom, his children Connor and Isabella and of course, the couple's 6-month-old baby Suri, Jennie McCarthy, tenor Andrea Bocelli, just to name a few. Interestingly, Oprah Winfrey was not one of the guests invited. In an interview with Extra the talk show host said, "It's not that I'm not going. Despite allowing Tom Cruise to massage her couch following his announcement regarding his relationship with Katie, the talk show star was on the list of guest to be excluded.

While the ceremony lent for only fifteen minutes, it was reported that the wedding kiss attracted nearly three minutes, with the couple finally coming up from air after the guests became restless and uncomfortable. Neverheless, the kiss literally sent sparks flying with a magnificent display of fireworks exploding outside the castle.

Katie Holmes looked ravishing in her delicate white lace off-the-shoulder Wedding dress. Beaded all-over with Swarovski crystals, and trimmed with tulle and lace, the dress was designed by not other than Georgio Armani. Here must have certainly thought that wedding dress shopping was mission impossible for Katie, with him insisting to be part of the decision making process, and having his input in the design. Obviously, the tradition of the groom not seeing the wedding dress must only be resigned for non-scientologists of society. Funnily though, the superstitions attached have seemed to have found their way through the Scientology firewall, with the marriage now on rocky grounds.

Inside the grand castle guests dined on four courses, including sea bass and steak, before enjoying a five-tier white chocolate wedding cake while being entertained by Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli. Whilst the Hollywood ideals dined and wined, locals looked on glumly expecting to catch a glimpse of the bride and groom. Devastatingly for the locals, not to mention the paparazzi who paid $ 1500 for location spot outside the castle, the bride and groom did not make their way outside to be photographed.

The couple spent their honeymoon in the Maldives, far away in the Indian Ocean accompanied by Baby Suri andTom's best man, senior scientist David Miscavige.

Since the grand affair, the couple has remained in the public eye for reasons other than wedding celebrations. With rumors that Tom's scientology ways has increased his previously exhausted controlling nature, Katie is now reportedly feeling the pressures of being Mrs Cruise, and has started to question her part in this partnership.

Since the relationship issues reported, the couple continues to battle on, with Tom certainly wanting to ensure that he keeps a top gun in his marriage. Perhaps this is one marriage that will depict the normal ups and downs of a relationship, or sometimes we will see the not so normal behaviors associated with the scienceology world.
