Wedding Plan Checklist – 4 Months Before the Wedding

[ad_1]

You are only 4 months away from your wedding day and there is still so much to do. This can sometimes be the point when brides start stressing and worrying about what they may have forgotten. Do not panic! Follow the checklist and confirm any plans already in place. Remember if everything starts to become overwhelming it's not too late to hire a Wedding Planner to assist. They can be an awful help at this time to assist with vendors.

4 Months before the Wedding

  • Finalise your guest list
  • Order the wedding rings
  • Finalise your wedding day arrangements – Ceremony, Music, Order of Service etc.
  • Order the invitations and organize all printing
  • Book your honeymoon
  • Book the DJ or band

Wedding Day Arrangements

It is very important that your wedding day arrangements are finalized at this time as you will need these details in order to organize your stationery and music. Your invitations can not be ordered until your ceremony and order of service etc. has been finalized.

You need to decide at this time if you want a DJ, a band, a string quartet etc. This, of course, all depends on the type of wedding you are planning and the atmosphere and theme you are trying to achieve. You will want different music at the beginning of the reception to later when guests are ready to dance and if hiring a DJ, do you want them to act as Emcee. I usually make a point of going to watch the DJ's, bands etc. before agreeing to work with them so I know exactly what to expect when recommending them to my clients. I would advise couples to do this also if they are planning their own wedding. Remember to inquire if they require a meal at the reception.

Invitations

There are a few different ways of acquitting your invitations and this is usually determined according to your budget. You can look at bulk produced stationery. There is a wide selection available and prices are very economic however, they may not be exactly what you want or fit in with the theme of your wedding.

Custom made stationery can be tailor to suit the theme of your wedding. There are many different types of paper and trimmings available so make sure you research the stationery and design you would like. It is a good idea to order everything at the same time. Reply cards, place cards, bonbonniere, order of service, menus, wishing well cards are just some of the things you may want.

You can also DIY. You can buy invitation sets already pre-cut. The kit includes a step by step guide for assembling the invitations. If you are working with a tight budget this may be worth looking at. Instead of paper stationery you can get really creative and design your own invitations on your computer and send them out via email if you are planning a more casual wedding.

The possibilities are endless and you will be surprised what you can achieve when you really start to think about it. This is your wedding so be creative and make your day everything you want it to be.
