It looks like you only just got engaged, and now there are 4-6 months left to prepare for your wedding. The old saying about how time waits for no man is very true when you are planning your wedding.
When you only have a few months to go here's what you should be working on:
With your family, you should compile a guest list and coordinate it with the groom. This may seem like a simple enough task, but the list can get quite lengthy when you start to include every great aunt that you have not seen in 10 years. Try to keep your guest list realistic and within your budget.
It is now time to select your bridal party and also your bridal gown and veil. By knowing who is in your bridal party, this will help you choose what dresses the bridesmaids and attendees will be wearing and you can probably get it all done at the same shop. Choose a date for ordering the dresses for the bridal party.
The groom should have a best man chosen by now. You must now pick out apparel for the groom, best man, ushers and fathers at this point. Allow one month for fittings on all of the clothing purchased.
This is the time to pick a honeymoon destination and begin to make reservations. If you are leaving the country, check on all the legal paperwork needed, such as passports, certificates and other documents. Allow at least four weeks for passport delivery.
Enjoy this time of peace, as wedding preparation will start to get very crazy, very fast.
