A Wedding on a Budget

[ad_1]

A wedding is a very special time in your life and it can also be a very expensive time in your life. Each year weddings seem to become bigger, better and more elaborate. But it is not how much you spend on your wedding that will determine whether it is a success or not. There are lots of ways that you can have a very special and memorable wedding day without saddling yourself with years worth of debt. Many newly weds also have the issue of paying for the deposit on a new house, which with house prices so high can be a massive financial challenge to deal with. Here are our top ten ways to have a wedding to remember without spending a fortune.

o Have the wedding in the late afternoon followed by a party with a buffet, this means that you do not need to have an expensive sit down meal followed by an evening do.
o Buy a second hand wedding dress. It is likely that it will have only ever been worn once so will almost be as good as new.
o Do your own hair and make up. You can look online for ideas and inspiration in advance and practice or do as many dry runs as you like. Chances are that you will feel more comfortable in styles that you have done yourself.
o For guests that would like to buy a present, ask them to buy vouchers to put towards the honey moon.
o Instead of getting a professional photographer ask guests to send you some copies of their photos. If you know anyone who has a good camera and takes great pictures, ask them to take a few for you.
o Make up simple flower bouquets using shop bought flowers from a supermarket. Everyone will be far too busy looking at you to notice your flowers.
o Ask a friend or member of your family with a nice car to drive you to the church and then on to your reception.
o Try holding your wedding in the winter or mid week, you may be able to negotiate a better rate with the venue.
o Do not forget to negotiate with the venue, can you bring your own wine, if so how mush corkage will they charge, it may be cheaper than using their wine.
o Offer guests Bucks Fizz made with sparkling wine, most of them will never know the difference.
