An Eco-Friendly Wedding Idea – Biodegradable Freeze Dried Rose Petals

[ad_1]

Many brides opt to have freshly de-petaled rose petals for their wedding. However, fresh rose petals quickly wilt, lose their shape, are slippery, can stain fabric and are quite costly as florists have to de-petal the roses on the day of the wedding. Did you know that there is an alternative which not only is real rose petals but are also an eco-friendly and much cheaper wedding option?

Freeze dried rose petals are plucked from real roses at the peak of freshness then placed in a dehydrating machine which slowly dries each petal. The result is real rose petals that look fresher than those your florist just picked hours ago! They also will not wilt, lose shape, stain or be as slippery as fresh flowers. The color of each is also brighter when the petals are dried.

Just because they are "freeze dried" does not pretend that they are frozen or are hard. The opposite is true, all you need to do is store them at room temperature and if you want to further soften them, just place them in the bathroom while you shower. Often softening the petals is not necessary. They are soft enough for normal usage such as flower girl toss, lining the ceremony aisle, reception table decorations or tossing at the couple when they exit the ceremony and reception. However, we do not recommend these for floating centerpieces because they will quickly absorb water and you will wind up with soggy, unshapely petals!

Freeze dried rose petals are available in a variety of colors and color blends. Remember that the colors found in nature will be the colors available to you for dehydrated pets. Often you will find on the internet companies which will claim to have blue freeze charged roses, but this is simply not true. Since there are no blue roses found in nature, these must be chemically treated before the freeze dried process.
